ANPR ( automatic number plate recognition )

Specialised cameras coupled with advanced software enable automatic detection and logging of number plates on all types of vehicles day and night. The archived information can be used for evidential purposes or for census data.

Ideal applications for these systems are petrol station forecourts, entrances to distribution warehouses and motorways and highways.

BIOMETRICS

Biometrics is the use of a person’s unique biological signatures such as fingerprints or eyeball retina to gain entry to a building or secure area.

These are by far the most secure access control systems on the market today and can complement an existing access system or can be installed as standalone units.

OBJECT REMOVED SOFTWARE

Coupled with high quality CCTV cameras, this software scans the picture and can determine if an item has changed position or size or has been removed completely.

This software has been developed specifically for very high security applications such as museums, and high value exhibitions and for perimeter surveillance.

ENERGY SAVING & AUTHORISED USER DEVICES

These systems can be utilised for multiple applications such as controlling who uses a particular piece of machinery or for turning on lights in occupied rooms. A reader slot is installed and connected to a computer controlled network which accepts pre programmed cards, on reading a valid card a relay is activated which can turn on a piece of machinery or light. Once the card is removed the equipment is switched off.

These systems are ideal for ensuring only trained personnel use certain machines or making sure lights are switched off when people leave the room.

The Mosquito is a revolutionary device that has been specifically designed to disperse groups of people from loitering in areas where they are not wanted. Thousands of people have benefited from installing a unit across the UK.

The new Mosquito MK4 Multi-age has two functions. To disperse groups of troublesome teenagers OR people of ANY AGE from areas where loitering can be an issue.

Both tones usually take effect within 10-15 minutes

The Mosquito is designed for external use only, and has a range of around 40 metres with a 60 degree angle of spread.

How does the system work?

The Mosquito is essentially a sounder unit that emits a very high (ultra-sonic) tone that is completely harmless even with long term use. The unit has been tested to ensure it complies with HSE report 343/2001.

The system generates a pulsed near ultra-sonic tone at around 17 KHz, which is close to the limit of the hearing range of people under 25 years old. This sound while not painful in any way, becomes highly annoying after 5-10 minutes exposure. The result is that the majority of under 25’s leave the immediate area whilst the majority of those over the age of 30 because of natural age related hearing loss either only just hear or in most cases are totally unaware of the noise.

Set the system to 8 KHz to disperse people of ANY AGE from areas where loitering can be an issue such as subway terminals, car parks or any areas where people may feel insecure at night due to other people loitering in the shadows etc.

The system is designed to be used for up to 20 minutes at a time. A timer is included with the unit. There is also a manual over-ride button that will switch the system on between programmed times if required.

I am not a teenager, will the Mosquito annoy me?

This is very unlikely and research has shown that the majority of people over the age of 25 have lost the ability to hear at this frequency range. It should be borne in mind, however, that the unit usually has the desired effect – moving the crowds away – within just a few minutes, at which time the unit can be turned off. So even if you are able to hear the noise to some degree, you would not have to put up with it for long.

What about dogs?

Although dogs have very acute hearing and are easily able to hear at this frequency, extensive testing shows that it does not appear to harm them.

How quickly does it work?

The longer someone is exposed to the sound, the more annoying it becomes. Field trials have shown that teenagers are acutely aware of the Mosquito and usually move away from the area within just a couple of minutes. The field trials also suggest that after several uses, the groups of children / teenagers tend not to loiter in the areas covered by the Mosquito, even when it is not turned on.

The effective range is around 40 metres

Features

The Mosquito MK 4 is encased in an anti-vandal housing and incorporates a range of additional functions. These are:

Continuous operation / 20 minute auto shut-off selection.
Onboard Vox system selection. This adjusts unit output volume in line with ambient noise levels.

We would recommend using an additional Protection Cage if the unit is sited lower down or in areas that are accessible.
